Event Photography: 2012 PSAC Swimming

It was an amazing weekend at Cumberland Valley High School pool where Ganon hosted this year’s PSAC Swimming Championships. Between the record breaking times, sell out crowds, and deafening cheering during the relays, it was a weekend to remember. It was our first swimming event and we can say that we are hooked!

The support from parents, fans, and swimmers was amazing. We had our basic setup of two Mac’s hooked up with two Display’s, and our iPad where we use Square to process credit card payments. Our reliable Sony UPDR-200 printer created over 225 prints this weekend. The 9,000 images are currently being sorted and should be uploaded by the end of the week here.

One month down, 11 to go!

A lot has happened since I watched Chase Jarvis Live featuring Ramit Seti. It was the webcast that really got me to realize that I’m wasting time and need to ramp it up.

January has been a great month. I’ve been very blessed to have the opportunities I had over the past couple weeks to really dig into producing better images. My amazing wife also blessed me with some new lighting gear and a part of the deal was for me to build a better portfolio, or one that I wouldn’t be hesitant to show
photo editors.

Below are a couple photos from this month’s work. I’ve added a couple the portfolio section of the website so get it out. Still a ways from where I’d like to be but working to get there.

Be sure to like my Facebook page or leave some love below.

Behind the Scenes: NJ NY Track Club

“Get your cool down in, get your picture taken, and hit the showers, lets go!”, bellowed Gag’s from his seat outside lane 4 of the Rutger’s “Practice Bubble”. The NJ NY Track Club athletes had just finished up their time trial (which was moving!) and were finishing up their workouts.

I was fortunate to work with one of the fastest growing track clubs and provide headshots for their website. (NJNYTC.com) It really felt as if I was at a team practice. They cheered and yelled for each other during their workouts and time trials.

Armed with two lights, a Canon and some jokes, we were able to capture some smiles and candids. Feel free to leave a comment. To see the photos on their site, click here and scroll to the bottom. To stay up the date with the NJNY Track Club, follow them on Twitter @NJNYTC.

“The Hill” at PSAC’s

So by now everyone has seen the pictures of the races and the fan photos. But I bet you haven’t seen a video of the men chugging up the hill. Well, here is it, please share with friends.

2010 PSAC XC Fan and Team pics

So it’s a little after midnight and I’m still a little wired from the 4 1/2 hour drive back to Allentown, PA. Or maybe it was something the lady put in my hoagie at Sheetz…

Whatever the case, Cross Country PSAC’s was another amazing race. With the snow, mud, and low temps, teams still came to rock and roll. Along with the help of a friend, I had some lights set up at my tent and was able to get some teams to stop and smile for a second.

Congrats to Ship on both the men’s and women’s side for winning and thanks to the staff at Cal U for putting on a great meet…minus the hill. Be sure to become a fan of my Facebook pace (link uptop).

Puppies on the Allentown Fairground

One recent assignment I really fell in love with was capturing a couple moments of Ricky and Lexi’s walk. It’s their favorite word, besides “treat” and “ride”. The two lab mixes love the Allentown Fairgrounds and once they are let off their leash, they love to get their energy out. Here are a couple photos from the shoot.
